4 Color Process Screen Printing

(4 Color Process Example)

The process of screen printing t-shirts using 4 color process involves using 4 screens ( Yellow, Magenta, Cyan and Black ) to create close to all the colors of the color spectrum. The artwork needs to be of highest quality possible since there will be lots of tiny little dots making up the printed image. By blending the 4 colors during the screening process, the end result is a t-shirt that looks almost photo-realistic.

The cost for 4 color process is a bit more then a standard 4 color spot job because of the prep work involved. The artwork needs to be separated out into the 4 colors ( Yellow, Magenta, Cyan, and Black), then 305 mesh screens are used to capture the details. The actual printing is done by printing wet-on-wet, meaning that all 4 colors are printed on top of each other without flash curing the ink in between. This blending of the ink is what produces all the colors. It's kinda of like your typical color inkjet printer that most people have in there home today.

Because of the prep work involved with 4 color process, we ask that your job consist of a minimum of 100 pieces and be on white t-shirts. Setup charges for 4 color process starts at $125.00 for ready to go artwork. If your artwork needs to be modified somewhat, standard $30.00 per hour artwork charges apply. However, in the end you will end up with a superior print over regular spot color printing.
