These terms apply to every custom screen printing and embroidery order placed with Houston Screen Print. Placing an order means you accept them. Last updated September 2026.
Estimates are good for 15 days. An estimate is based on the details you give us at the time: quantity, garment, shirt color, number of ink colors and number of print locations. Change any of those and the price changes with them.
Estimates are also subject to review of your artwork. If the art needs work before it can be printed, or the design turns out to need more colors than the estimate assumed, we tell you and requote before anything moves forward. The final invoice reflects what was actually produced.
Screen printing prices quoted from our price list include the blank garment, the printing and the screens. There is no separate setup fee, screen fee or art fee on print-ready files.

Shipping is not included in a quote unless the quote says so.
The minimum is 24 pieces per design. One design can be split across shirt colors and sizes and still count as one order, but each additional design starts its own 24 piece count.
Full payment is required before an order goes into production. We accept cash, check, PayPal and credit cards (Visa, Master Card, American Express, Discover), and we can send a web payment link with your invoice.
An unpaid order is not scheduled, and turnaround time does not begin until payment clears and your proof is approved.
Standard turnaround is 7 to 10 working days. The clock starts when both of these are done: full payment is received, and you have approved your proof in writing, by signature or by email.
Turnaround does not include transit time on shipped orders. If you have a hard in-hand date, tell us before you order and we will tell you honestly whether it fits.
We will try to accommodate orders needed sooner than standard turnaround, but we cannot promise it on every job. Rush orders carry a rush charge, require payment in full up front, and must be confirmed by us in writing before you count on the date.
On shipped rush orders, the rush charge covers production time only. Carrier transit time is outside our control and is not guaranteed.
We observe New Year’s Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after, Christmas Day and the day after. These are not working days, so please allow for them when you plan a deadline.
Orders placed between December 12 and December 24 are subject to a 15 day turnaround.
Vector files (.ai, .eps, .cdr, .pdf) are ideal. High resolution raster files at 300 dpi or better, sized to the final print dimensions, also work. Word, Publisher and PowerPoint files cannot be used. Full detail is on the artwork requirements page.
If a file is not print ready we will tell you before production, not after. Rebuilding or recreating artwork carries an art charge, quoted and approved before we begin.
By sending us artwork you confirm that you own it or have permission to use it, including any logos, team names, brand marks, characters or copyrighted images it contains. We are not in a position to verify ownership and we rely on you for it.
You agree to hold Houston Screen Print harmless from any claim arising out of artwork you supplied. We reserve the right to decline any job.
Separations, films, screens, stitch files and other production materials created for your order remain the property of Houston Screen Print. Your original artwork remains yours.
Reorders of the same design reuse those files, which is why a repeat run is usually simpler and faster than the first one.
You get a digital mockup showing the design, its size and its placement on the garment color you chose. Nothing is produced until you approve it.
Approval is your sign-off on spelling, layout, sizing, placement, colors, garment style and the size breakdown. Please read it carefully. Once a proof is approved, corrections to anything shown on it are at your expense.
Physical printed samples can be produced before a run, but they carry a charge based on the complexity of the design. Ask before you order if you want one.
Unless you specify otherwise, we choose the method we believe will give the best result for your design, garment and quantity.
Screen colors are not reliable. The swatches on our ink colors page and the colors in your mockup are close, not exact, and they will look different on every monitor and every printout.
If a color has to be right, ask for a Pantone match and give us the PMS number. PMS matching carries a charge. We cannot be held responsible for a color that was approved against an on-screen mockup only.
Printing on a dark garment requires a white underbase, which counts as an ink color at every print location and is priced accordingly.
Maximum adult front or back print is 14 in x 16 in. Left chest runs about 4 in wide and sleeves about 3.5 in x 12 in. Youth prints are scaled to fit the garment. Up to 8 ink colors per location, including the underbase on dark garments.
Placement is measured by eye to a standard tolerance and can vary slightly from garment to garment and between sizes. Prints larger than 14 in x 16 in are quoted separately.
Blank stock moves constantly and a style or color is occasionally unavailable after you order. If that happens we call you with options. We do not substitute quietly.
If you choose to wait for stock to come back, we cannot guarantee the turnaround time or the restock date our supplier gives us. If you choose a substitute garment, we can usually hold the original schedule.
We will print on garments you provide, subject to a 2% misprint allowance. Any misprints are credited as a print owed, not a garment owed. We do not replace customer-supplied garments.
Garments must arrive counted, sorted by size and design, and ready to run. We are not responsible for defects in goods we did not supply, and some fabrics and finishes will not accept ink reliably.
Embroidery is priced by stitch count rather than by color, so we cannot quote it from a chart. Send the artwork, we confirm the stitch count, and you get a firm price per piece. See the embroidery page.
Digitizing, the one-time conversion of your logo into a stitch file, is charged once per design. Reorders of the same logo reuse that file at no additional digitizing charge.
Thread cannot hold the fine detail ink can. Thin lines, text under about a quarter inch and photographic art do not stitch cleanly, and we may recommend simplifying a design before it goes on a garment.
Delivery of up to 10% over or under the quantity ordered constitutes acceptable delivery, and you are billed for the actual quantity produced. If you need an exact count, order a few extra and tell us the count is firm.
Shipping is quoted separately and is not included in turnaround time. We ship UPS Ground and USPS Priority Mail. Risk of loss passes to you when the carrier takes possession.
Local orders can be picked up in Houston by appointment.
Orders are bulk packed by size. We do not currently offer individual folding, poly bagging, hang tagging or size stickering.
Check the count and the quality as soon as you receive your order. Any problem must be reported within 48 hours of delivery or pickup. After 48 hours we cannot accept a claim.
If there is a shortage or a defect, keep the garments in question. We may need them back before issuing a credit or a reprint.
If an order is produced incorrectly and the error is ours, we reprint the affected pieces at no cost to you. That is the remedy, and our liability is limited to the value of the order.
Because every job is custom, we do not offer refunds on completed orders and we cannot accept returns on printed or embroidered goods. We are not responsible for reprinting a job that matches an approved proof, including spelling, layout or color errors that were on the proof when you approved it.
A refund is available if you cancel before any garments are ordered or produced.
Changes are easy before proof approval and difficult afterward. Once blanks are ordered or production has started, a change may not be possible and may carry a charge.
If an order is cancelled, any refund or return of deposit depends on where the order stands: whether garments have been ordered, whether any have been produced, and whether restocking fees apply. Cancellations are handled case by case.
Under federal legislation covering products sold to children under 12, Houston Screen Print does not produce garments designed specifically to be worn by children under the age of 12. Youth sizes remain available, since many adults wear them.
By ordering youth sizes you acknowledge that our products are designed, manufactured, sold and intended for adults and children over 12, and that we cannot be held liable for use outside that intent.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Harris County, Texas.
